The Bell tower

It is the last evidence (together with a 1400s fresco now kept in the Chapel of the Nursing Home) of the Santa Maria Church, quoted in a document dated 1223 and destroyed during the second decade of the 1900s. The bell tower, that has been restructured several times, was originally the squared look-out tower of the Lords of Monforte, and was later included in the façade of the church. The higher spired part of the tower shows gothic characteristics.

During the restoration works, a wide niche was discovered at the bases of the tower. It shows barocco decorations and was once used as christening fountain.
