St Elisabetta Oratory

The Church of the Brotherhood of the Humbles (Chiesa Confraternita delle Umiliate). In a document dated 1688, Carlo Francesco del Carretto di Monforte offers the money and the means necessary to build the Oratory annexed to the castle, keeping for himself a separate entrance door.
The small barocco-style Oratory with its octagonal shape shows a façade that was whitewashed in 1827. Its back side preserves its original appearance and looks perfectly integrated with the surrounding buildings. Inside the church there are marble paraste and a vault with flower decorations. In the back wall there is a deep niche with an altar. Behind the altar, a barocco-style cornice frames a portrait of S. Elisabetta.
