It was probably built by the monks of the vicarage of Ferraia (SV), that already owned this locality. It was rebuilt in the 15th century and further restructured in the 17th and 19th century.
Inside the chapel, the ancient fresco at the centre of the apse wall represents the Our Lady with the Holy Child holding a bird in his hands. We may suppose that it was painted at the end of the 1400s by a Painter from Mondovì. On the left side there is the altar of St Giovanni Evangelista (St John the Evangelist) where a altar-piece dated 1654 is kept. It represents the Crucified and some Saints, and - according to traditions - comes from the Castle.
