Cappella di San Sebastiano (St Sebastian Chapel)

The first chapel dedicated to St. Sebastiano for the protection against the plague was first built in the 1600s in the place where there is p.zza Umberto I and was later demolished. An altar in the ancient parish church of “Santa Maria de castro” was also dedicated to this same Saint. The original structure probably dates back to the time of the plague epidemics (1630-1631). Its existing form was probably given at the end of the 1800s or at the beginning of the 1900s, the reconstruction years that followed the 1877 earthquake.
